The team of 11 riders including LIFE Build site manager Steve Cutler rolled into Bilbao at approx 6pm on Saturday 14 June 2014 to complete their epic 1000 mile charity cycle challenge which started on a damp morning in Milton Keynes 7 days earlier.
Some stunning scenery and a few interesting characters were encountered during the ride which passed through the battlefields of the Somme and the wine regions of Bergerac. Despite weather conditions varying from beautiful sunshine to torrential thunderstorms spirits among the rider remained high throughout the ride which was thankfully free of any medical or mechanical emergency.
Steve said ‘It was a tough few days but a totally unforgettable experience, topped off with the fact that thanks to many individual donations and to Life Builds generous jersey and day sponsorship, to date in excess of £8000 has been raised for the two charities the Henry Allen Trust and the MK Dons Sports & Education Trust.’
