Trained as a Quantity Surveyor with a major London based contractor. In 1993 was appointed a Director of a well-established Regional listed contractor with responsibilities for all surveying and commercial activities within the group, including overseeing the management of the Oxford operation and the Special Works division.

Invaluable experience has been gained over the past 28 years working for both Public and Private sector Clients. Taking a company from a loss making position to a profitable £30 million turnover and successfully floating the company. In 2001, from a standing start, he launched a regional business in the Northern Home Counties taking the turnover to £18 million within three years. This extremely successful business was then sold to a National Contractor.

Ken is currently a member of the Constructing Excellence Club for Herts and Bucks.

Beginning his career with a leading International Contractor gaining 10 years valuable experience in Site and Contracts Management providing a sound structured approach to management and an appreciation of quality, responsible for a turnover of £10m. He then joined a highly respected Regional Contractor undertaking works in the education, health and housing sectors, Mike held the positions of Contracts Manager and Construction Manager and was ultimately responsible for all construction activities. In 2001 he became Construction Director controlling production activities and responsible for an annual construction turnover of £18 million.

He has detailed knowledge of the control and management that is vital in selecting, developing and supporting a team and ensuring that cost, production and quality targets are met, whilst maintaining effective communication between the Company, Clients and their professional teams.

Aged 63, Ken is Chairman of Bayard Estates Ltd.

He was the founder and Managing Director of Hatfield Estates plc, and the Chairman of Bickerton Group plc.

Aged 65, Bob is currently Chairman of five quoted companies: Harrier Group plc, Vislink plc, Armour Group plc, Lorien plc and Tenon Group plc.

He also holds directorships in a wide range of quoted and private companies and has substantial public company experience.
