LIFE Build contracts manager, Ric Thornhill successfully finished his latest challenge of cycling from John O’Groats to Land’s End. He undertook the same challenge 12 years ago but this time did it from the top down, as it was all downhill! It was a fantastic trip with four other cyclists, made more memorable by doing it with his son Adam. The trip was undertaken in 12 days and involved travelling through 950 miles of some fantastic scenery. Cycling through the Isle of Arran was the highlight but there were many other memorable areas and others less so (particularly the hills of West Devon!) To date he has raised over £4,000 for a charity close to his heart – Helen & Douglas House. This is a hospice for children and young adults based in Oxford. It’s not too late to give a donation!

You can find out more about the work that Helen & Douglas House do with children and young adults with life-limiting conditions at their website –

ken and lee london to paris bike rideOn the 6th June Ken Adams and Lee Batten embarked on their toughest challenge to date by cycling 400 kilometres in 4 days from London to Paris to raise vital funds for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.

It was a four day endurance ride between two iconic capital cities, covering a range of terrains and conditions, making it one of the most demanding and rewarding rides around.

So far we have raised £4,435.00 and with your continued help we can beat our previous target.

Notting Hill Housing Trust framework agreement

In New Projects by lisa / June 3, 2013 / 0 Comments

Following a rigorous selection process LIFE Build have secured a place on the 5 year framework agreement with Notting Hill Housing Trust for projects up to £4m in value.

Notting Hill Housing Trust have 28,000 properties in London worth an estimated value of over £2 billion. At the last round of funding NHHT received the largest grant, they have also raised considerable funds against their own asset base and plan to build 1400 units per year during the framework period.

Our success in achieving a place on the framework was as a result of our successful track record in delivering similar projects for our existing Social Housing clients and the team effort in responding to NHHT’s demanding Prequalification process.
