Practical Completion | South Hampstead High School

We’re delighted to celebrate the successful completion of another transformation at South Hampstead High School, delivering refreshed spaces for pupils and staff ahead of the new academic year. The project also marks an important milestone for LIFE Build — our fourth successfully completed project for the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST).

Delivered during the summer period, the project involved transforming a former basement changing room into a new fitness studio, alongside the conversion of a tired rooftop area into an attractive new roof terrace.

The terrace now features a pergola, planters, trees and soft landscaping, together with a dedicated teaching space beneath a new aluminium canopy, creating a welcoming and versatile outdoor environment.

Alongside the original scope, LIFE Build was also asked to refurbish a new sixth-form common room and servery. This added further logistical complexity, with works being carefully coordinated across three separate areas of the school while summer activities continued.

Through careful planning and close collaboration with the wider project team, the works were successfully completed and cleared from site ahead of the start of the new academic year.

We’re proud to have delivered another successful scheme for GDST and to continue building a relationship founded on quality, collaboration and the successful delivery of projects within live education environments.
