The Hall School, London

This eight-phase project was delivered within a live school environment. The first two phases, staff room, toilets, and reception were completed over the summer holiday, ready for the Autumn term. Later phases saw five rooms renovated at a time over six-to-seven-week periods, closely coordinated with the school.

We also replaced all heating pipework and installed new mechanical plant on the roof, completed before Christmas (with temporary heaters in place) to keep rooms warm through the winter term.

The final phase involved removing the existing hall roof and building a four-classroom extension above, supported by a new steel beam and metal deck floor. The roof combines a sedum finish with a green living wall on the gable end and curved section.

Rear access was challenging, requiring a road closure for the steelwork installation and manual loading-out of remaining materials.
