The project consisted of 11 units of affordable housing for rent, 10 semi-detached houses and one bungalow.

Plot one of the development was a bungalow built and adapted for a wheelchair user.  The design had to be adapted as the original layout and design did not meet the basic requirements in terms of door sizes, access ramps, level of light switches and other power sockets etc.

We worked closely with the designer to ensure full compatibility including items such as a new wet room to include all appropriate sanitary ware including wall/floor seat, ironmongery, coved skirtings to wet room and lever fittings for taps. The kitchen was completely adapted to include access and space under the cooker, hob and work surfaces for a wheelchair. Again, all sockets and power points were repositioned in the kitchen for use by a wheelchair user. All door ironmongery was replaced throughout for handles suitable for disabled use.
